Vogel State Park lies within easy driving distance of my home. I’m blessed that way by many other great destinations as well.
There was a time in my life when Vogel state park was my go-to location to gather my thoughts and find at least a modicum of peace. This beautiful park helped me find a level of balance during some tough times.
One evening I was hiking around the park and stopped near the waterfall dam to take in the beauty. The sun, combined with the changing Fall colors created a beautiful backdrop. I pulled out my camera, took the picture, then summarily forgot about it.
Recently, I was reviewing my pictures and came across the picture that inspired this painting. The light and changing colors were more beautiful than I remembered. Perhaps that’s because of my state of mind then compared to now. I have no idea why I relegated that photograph to a digital library, but I’m glad it resurfaced to inspire this painting.
This original artwork, acrylic on canvas measures 8”x8”, the print is also 8” x 8”.
