March is such a frisky month - at least it is for the wee rabbits. Have you ever heard the saying, “Mad as a March hare”? The saying is derived from the behavior of rabbits during the early spring when they are feeling amorous and behaving as rabbits tend to do.
This month’s painting is inspired by that notion of the explosion of animal activity as nature shrugs off the cold days of winter. In this painting, Mama has had enough of the rabbit hijinx going on around her and has melted into the freshly grown grass for a break.
She will likely be found soon, and she’ll get on with her Spring activities, but for now, “Mama Needs a Break” 😊
This painting is inspired by a photograph I took last year of a Cottontail Rabbit who was hiding in the grass. I love the way she just blends in with her surroundings.
