“October Sends A Scout”
Crows are year-round residents here in the North Georgia Mountains; however, as October emerges, migrating crows begin to show up in considerable numbers. During warmer months here, crows keep to their small, familial groups, protecting their young and territory from outsiders. With time and the changing of seasons, crows become more social and merge with the migrating newcomers.
This crow, inspired by many photos of crows on my property and by my desire to befriend at least one of them, represents the “Scout” October sends to be on alert and to welcome the new arrivals. The pumpkins are ready to be harvested, and the sunflowers are waiting for the last of their seeds to consumed by the resident corvids. This “Scout” is not only keeping watch, but also protecting the remaining sunflower seeds to share with friends who will arrive soon.
May we welcome the changing of seasons like this crow welcomes new friends.
This greeting card is a high quality, large 5” x 7” card printed on heavy card stock with a satin finish.
Each card is hand-signed and created with framing in mind.
