Awakening Curiosity - Card

$8.50

This past winter brought a first for my land here in North Georgia: I finally photographed a fox. In fact, I captured two. I’ve always loved foxes, but their shy nature and mostly nocturnal habits keep them hidden more often than not.

One of my game cameras caught a healthy pair slipping across my property and heading toward the national forest beyond. Seeing them there—alive, alert, moving with purpose—absolutely thrilled me.

We’ve all heard the phrase “clever as a fox,” and this month’s painting leans into that idea. These intelligent hunters spend most of their lives tucked into the forest’s shadows, watching more than they’re seen. But with all that awareness, I can’t help but imagine they notice the beauty that erupts around them each spring.

Dogwoods are among the first blossoms to appear in the Appalachians. In this painting, their scent and brightness prove irresistible. The fox steps out from the dim shelter of the trees and into a brief moment of sunlight, drawn by the flowers’ quiet invitation.

She leaves the shadows behind, her curiosity awakened.

I hope you enjoy this fifth in my series of fine art greeting cards.

This greeting card is a high quality, large 5” x 7” card printed on heavy card stock with a satin finish. The card is created with framing in mind.
