Momma Ruby - Ornament (Print)

$20.00

I have countless hummingbird feeders here at my home in the Mountains of North Georgia, but only one of them requires refilling – the rest are refilled courtesy of mother nature. My feeder, augmented by countless flowers ranging from Zinnias to Coral Honeysuckle to Mexican Sunflowers provide the nourishment needed to keep my amazing Ruby Throated Hummingbirds in flight.

While my Ruby Throated Hummingbirds are viciously competitive and aggressive, they are also indescribably beautiful. Like most members of the bird kingdom, the bright colors are found on the males who use this decorative plumage to attract the females. But in the case of the Ruby Throated Hummingbird, I can’t help but admire the muted beauty of the females.

This month’s painting was inspired by a photo I took of a female ruby throated hummingbird perched on a branch one summer morning while camping by a stream.

I named her “Mama Ruby” and I believe her subtle beauty puts her on par with any bird found in nature.

I will carefully package each ornament in a high-quality, burlap gift bag for protection and ease of gift giving.

Please note: Each ornament is one-of-a kind. No two are alike, as the size and shape of the wood slices are not uniform. Also, all beads will be wooden, but the shade may vary.

Approximately 2.4” - 2.8” diameter.

Ornaments are made to order - please allow extra time, as I will be working carefully to create your individual orders.
