When traveling throughout the Appalachian Mountain range, you will find sunflowers dotting the landscape. One of my favorite nature preserves in my area plants acres of them every year for the birds and pollinators. I love the way they explode into color and then spend the following months providing seeds for the native birds. I plant sunflowers every year in my garden and am consistently amazed at the number of pollinators who visit the beautiful flowers. This past Fall, I watched two late migrating monarchs stop in my garden to spend some time drawing nutrients from my late blooming sunflowers. It was a match made in heaven.
This one-of-a-kind ornament (approx. 3.75” diameter) is hand-painted on a canning jar lid and framed in a painted canning jar ring. The ornament is finished with jute twine and ready to hang. The back is signed with the title of the painting and artist signature. All of this is packaged in a protective burlap bag and ready for gift giving, or display.
